The Weber State University Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) functions as a connector organization that links students, faculty/staff, alumni and community partners.

 

The CCEL partners with non-profits (501(c)3 organizations), government agencies and projects/initiatives of for-profit partners that are approved by a committee to provide service, democratic engagement and community research opportunities for faculty, staff, students, alumni and community. These organizations and projects receive a volunteer pool from WSU as large as it is diverse, thus providing them with a wide range of skills. Partners become co-educators by helping students learn civic values and provide them opportunities to enhance their education.
 

One powerful matchmaking tool we offer is the Community Partner Directory. This comprehensive listing contains information on community partners including their mission, volunteer opportunities, and contact information. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community can access this database in order to find a fit for their needs; individuals may also visit our office to find a good match.
 

Becoming a registered partner with the Center For Community Engaged Learning signifies that your organization and/or project/initiatives offers quality volunteer opportunities to volunteers. Weber State students, as well as their professors, know that your organization offers a safe environment at which to volunteer and that your mission and aims are in alignment with the highest standards. Registered partners also receive exclusive benefits.  Partners receive benefits from their partnership with the Center For Community Engaged Learning based on the length of their partnership and the level of involvement they choose to have with the Center.
 

We cannot promise a particular number of volunteers nor do we have a body of volunteers to send to your organization and/or projects. Rather, students, faculty, staff and alumni choose the opportunity that best suits their skill-set, educational goals and personal interests. We do our best to provide them with the most current information and help them make a choice that will make their volunteer experience positive for you and for them.  The Center for Community Engaged Learning advertises and publicizes your volunteer opportunities to our students, faculty, staff and alumni to make them aware of your volunteer needs. We are only able to do this when you keep your volunteer opportunities current with our Center.

Following your partnership application approval, you will have access to post on our community calendar.  This calendar allows community partners to post multiple service, democratic engagement and community engaged research volunteer opportunities to recruit WSU students, faculty, staff and alumni.  Calendar postings increase your access to the WSU community.


FOR POTENTIAL WSU CAMPUS PARTNERS

We will consider your application carefully.  For most organizations, we will post your volunteer opportunities on our community calendar.  

Please choose the level of partnership you are applying for. New partners will start at the Cubs level. You must be a partner at each level for 1 year before you can apply to move up a level.
